This one-day trekking experience has been designed to give you a taste of Chiang Mai’s richly diverse natural landscape. Only a short car ride from the city centre, you will arrive in Mae Wang, home to virgin forests, picturesque waterfalls and scenic trekking routes.

Here, visit the Hmong and Karen hill-tribe villages, then explore the verdant jungles on foot as well as on elephant back and a bamboo raft. Sounds like a lot in one day? Not really, since the paths are rather well-beaten and trekking routes easier going that other single-day treks available, making this an ideal experience for nearly everyone.

Experience 1 Day Trek Mae Wang Sanpathong Area

08:00-16:30

Chiang Mai hotel pick up from where you head off to a beautiful mountain in Mae Wang. From here you trek for 40 minutes to visit a Hmong Hill tribe village where you can explore the village and see how the hill tribe people live. The trek then continues for 20 minutes through the jungle until you reach elephants, which you will ride for an hour through the jungle.

You continue by van to a Shan village where you have lunch. After lunch you visit a Karen Hill tribe village, exploring a typical house and meander through the village seeing traditional hill tribe life. The van transports you to a waterfall where you can enjoy swimming and relaxing.

After this you experience an exciting one-hour of bamboo rafting trip down the meandering Mae Wang River where you will see beautiful natural jungle scenery. Then transfer back to Chiang Mai hotel 16:30 or transfer to airport for next destination.
