Where to Shop and What to Buy in Riverside

Shopping down by Riverside is for the most part exclusive to high-end quality and price goods. The Riverside location ensures a great setting in which to shop. Warorot Market

Often described as the heartbeat of Chiang Mai, Warorot is situated several blocks behind the lively Night Bazaar, but caters to the needs of locals as a opposed to tourists.
Specialising in fabric, toys, school supplies and fruits it has more of a Chinese feel to it. This is a constantly busy area and great way to get a real feel for northern culture when in Thailand.

Villa Cini

Villa Cini is of Chiang Mai’s more affluent brands, specialising in fabrics, antiques, home accessories and antiques in line with brands such as Living Space, Ginger, Nova and Wits collection. If you’re after silk, head down here or to the shop at the Oriental Hotel and you will not be disappointed, but expect to pay more. You can purchase material by the metre or buy ready-made cushions, wall hangings and other accessories. Antiques are also available.

Tree House

Beautifully handcrafted arts, ceramics and textiles all designed by Chiang Mai’s local artists. The shop is a renovated Lanna-style Sala – a simple cottage that is believed to be over a century old, packed full of polished treasures.

La Luna

The centre of contemporary art and crafts in Chiang Mai, La Luna promotes both renowned and emerging artists. The Flower Market

Well worth visiting just to experience the visual and aromatic extravaganza that is a flower market. Tom Lamyai runs along the Ping River towards Thapae Road, it sells the freshest cut, and most beautiful flowers of all the flower markets in Chiang Mai. Open 24 hours we recommend venturing down to the riverside during the late evening to see the thousands of birds of paradise, orchids and chrysanthemums being delivered.
