Anusarn Food Court

Situated behind the Night Market, we have the Anusarn Food Court offering a range of fare which is for the most part, freshly made to order. Expect a high concentration of fresh seafood eateries, with fish on ice or tanks on display outside. Although the food court is a little more expensive than your typical Thai street food, a meal here is still relatively inexpensive.

Food Courts

Each of the markets that comprise the Night Bazaar has a food court where cheap food is obtained on a prepaid token basis. (remove you buy the token firsts and then trade them with the vendor in question that has the food you want, can be enjoyed). This isn’t necessarily the most pleasant way to eat and you do forgo table service but on the plus side it’s convenient for a mid-shopping snack and offers a good choice and really tasty food.

Giorgio’s Italian Restaurant

This intimate and long-standing restaurant has a reputation as one of Chiang Mai's finer eateries. Featuring an old-school Italian interior, complete with checkered tablecloths and candlelit lighting, the menu features a great selection of pastas, pizzas and meat-based dishes. The wine list is varied and reasonably priced, with staff happy to match a wine to a particular dish.

Kalare Food Court

This is divided into two sections, with each section featuring different shows for the entertainment. One side serves food from around the globe both freshly prepared (mainly Thai street food) or pre cooked and heated up. The opposite half is slightly more expensive with the food choices being predominantly Thai and seafood base.

Le Meridien, Favola

The Sunday Brunch at Favola is fantastic, although a bit pricey you can feast on authentic Italian recipes prepared by native chef Gustavo Maurelli. Situated on the second floor of the Le Meridien hotel. Thursdays are a always a good time to eat here as they have ‘lucky Thursdays’ where you can flip the Favola dice to win discounts, vouchers or to have Favola take care of your bill. The décor is spacious and airy, with lots of glass and marble components.

Le Spice

Not far from the Kalare Food Centre in the Night Market area of the City, is this popular Indian restaurant that brings in a steady crowd most nights, both for the great food and reasonable prices. It is probably one of the best Indian restaurants around the area, which says a lot as there are quite a few. The samosa's are delicious and all the curries both meat and vegetarian based are superb

Moxie

Moxie exhibits clean lines with splashes of orange to striking effect and certainly has a wow factor to it, which is exemplified by the spectacular world cuisine on offer. Thailand Tatler awarded it the honour of “Best restaurant 2009” of the entire country. The menu which consists of “a combination of original recipes providing the utmost in flavours, combining haute styling with eastern exoticism” is regularly updated by the innovative chefs who pride themselves on being leaders in the world of haute cuisine.

Ouh La La

Everything here is homemade by the French proprietor including the breakfast jams, bread and delicious dishes including duck confit, coq au vin and goose liver pate. It is like a little corner of Paris in Chiang Mai, except the food is a fraction of the price. The icing on the cake with Ouh La La is the illy coffee, which alone is worth coming for.

Old Chiang Mai Café

More of a day time appointment than evening venue, this place is almost impossible not to stop and have a drink in. Combined with a book and crafts store it encapsulates all the quaintness’ you will come to associate with Chiang Mai. From the flower pots that line the entrance to the old fashioned bike that sits outside, the coffee and food are not half bad either.
Cuisine: Thai and International

Kao Kab Kang

A gorgeous Thai restaurant that is situated a few doors down from Ouh La La. The walls are adorned with traditional Lana style crafts and stunning wall hangings adding to the overriding feeling of cosiness that encompasses the space. Kao Kab Kang gets the balance between upscale sophistication and warmth making it a great choice to eat Thai food when in Chiang Mai.

Piccola Roma Palace

With a menu (remove features) including entrees such as beef carpaccio and tuna steaks along with a variety of antipasti, Piccoloa Roma Palace is a safe bet for a good Italian meal. Mains include pizzas (thin based), pasta and meat and fish-based dishes. Desserts are good, as is the espresso and the wine list.
 

Yaang Come Village

Offering cuisine from not only Thailand but around the globe, this is a beautiful restaurant where you can dine inside amid the antique furniture or outside on the patio under the Yaang Come tree adjacent to the swimming pool. This fine dining restaurant really embodies the charm and elegance of Chiang Mai.

Pizzadillia

"Everything Flat with Everything on Top of That"? The slogan of this popular fusion restaurant that offers both Mexican and Italian fusion fare. Specialties include super thin based pizzas and quesadillas, offering you the best of both worlds when it comes to hearty cuisine.

Red Lion

For typical English grub consisting of, meat potatoes and two vegetables, the Red Lion Pub and Restaurant will see that cravings are well met with their generous portions of home cooked food. For over a decade the Red Lion has been serving bangers and mash, steak and kidney pies and fish and chips to Chiang Mai’s inhabitants and visitors, amassing a loyal following. From our point of view this is most certainly a place you can trust to put a wholesome meal that tastes as good as the real thing, down on the table.

Whole Earth

Set in a traditional Thai-style wooden house amid landscaped tropical gardens, this is memorable dining Chiang Mai style. The menu features healthy dishes, some a bit more indulgent than others. Featured dishes include vegetarian curries and tempura.

With vegetarian, Thai and Indian cuisine, don’t be put off by the mixture of fare on offer. Dishes are immaculately presented. Complying with Thai custom all patrons must remove their shoes before entering the restaurant; so prepare to eat in bare feet.

Al Hussain

The best Arabic food in Chiang Mai vouched for by the chef and the legion of loyal customers spoken to. The delicious selection of dishes include mutton masala, briyani mutton, chicken and fish, paneer, daal, mixed vegetables, paratha, naan and garlic naan. All made with imported ingredients from India and Pakistan, this truly is a gem to be cherished for those who favour Middle Eastern and Indian fare.
