Offering an impressive range of therapies Oasis Spa uses the best of both Asian and international techniques and products. This walled garden spa and house is located on Samalan Road, near Wat Pra Sigha Temple, and walking distance from the Sunday Walking Street. Staff are friendly, well-trained and do everything to make this a pampering trip to remember. The spa is open from 10:00 to 22:00 every day and you can either make the most of one of their spa packages or try a selection of treatments from the menu. There are plenty of places to get a massage in Chiang Mai. You only have to walk around the town centre to find a number of small shops and spas. But if you are looking for something a bit special, then check out Oasis Spa.
A spa experience at Oasis Spa is made more memorable by the exquisite surroundings. The walls are decorated in warm terracotta and gold hues and once inside the compound you already start to feel relaxed. There is small shaded patio in front of the spa house, with water features bubbling gently and quietening the outside noise. The friendly English speaking receptionists are on hand to help you pick your treatment, although it’s recommended to book a slot ahead as Oasis Spa has a great reputation and tends to get busy. At the back of the house the treatment rooms fringe a garden courtyard, decorated in a simple but attractive traditional Lanna style. Showers are available for those who wish to take one whether before or after their treatment. All of the spa rooms are designed for two people, but of course the day spa welcomes those who would like to be pampered alone.
Oasis Spa Chiang Mai prides itself on using natural ingredients in many of their treatments. Products used for scrubs and wraps are freshly mixed for each customer using products such a coconut, honey, aloe vera and mint. Many of their herbs are sourced from villages around Chiang Mai. In some cases, better treatments can be found elsewhere and Oasis Spa import 5% of their products, including essential oils and items for the renowned Biodroga range. Add to this the impressively well-trained masseurs and it is no surprise that Oasis Spa is one the most popular day spas in Chiang Mai. If all this was not enough, Oasis Spa will also arrange free pick-up to and from your hotel.
Oasis Spa’s philosophy is to provide world-class treatments in an unstuffy environment and they succeed. There are plenty of different treatments to pick from, but we recommend making the most of them all and booking a half day package. Four hours of indulgence starts at 4,600 baht and includes a body steam, scrub and wrap, followed by a massage and facial. For something a little different consider the Lanna Exotic Massage or Tok-Sen (1,700 baht). This treatment originates from Northern Thailand, combining traditional Thai massage with a unique wooden tool, tapped against key points in your body to release tension. It might feel a little weird at first, but you feel very relaxed after. Like I said, although there are plenty of spa choices in Chiang Mai, there is nowhere that delivers an experience quite like Oasis Spa, with a fantastic tranquil location, heavenly products and friendly professional staff.
